New SQT resources for 2009-2010

The world is changing: the global banking crisis, the credit crunch and a financial downturn in the UK will all have an impact on young people.

Citizenship Education – including political literacy, social and moral understanding, participation, identity and diversity – has never been more relevant.

To help teachers and students with these challenging topics, there are new and revised SQT resources. They are designed to support the citizenship curriculum and the teaching of Political Literacy. The resources are timely, with under a year to the next General Election a special Voting and Elections Toolkit has been released to help students understand the processes that govern them.

Voting and Elections Toolkit

  • Special teaching resource which explores the themes of voting and elections in a General Election year!
  • Learn how your Government comes to power
  • Lesson plans include Electoral Systems, Running an Election Campaign and being Prime Minister For A Day.

Politics & Parliament Toolkit

  • A new resource to help your students understand politics, Parliament and Government
  • Learn how the political system works
  • Understand how to get involved in political decision making.

Communications Skills Toolkit
